East African Safaris

Safari is a kiswahili word meaning a journey. It has however, over the last hundred years or so, come to mean a journey to discover the fantastic wildlife and scenery of East Africa.

But a safari is so much more than that. A safari is a journey of the intellect and of the soul, an immersion in nature and an epic trip of romance and self discovery. It is a reminder of man's birthright and past harmony with nature.

Safaris come in all prices, from the simplest to the most luxurious, from the most laidback, traditional and original to the faster flying safaris. The personal nature, attention to detail and professionalism of our guides is always the same.

In East Africa there are a number of accommodation options. We feel it is preferable to select lodges or camps that are small with fewer rooms. This makes them more personal and service orientated.

Lodges are often constructed from local materials and are equipped for every comfort. Many have swimming pools and have breathtaking views.

Permanent camps are lodges where the rooms are constructed from canvas like a very large tent. They have all the furniture and amenities of a normal room. Many have swimming pools and great views.

The best way to really appreciate the wildlife and stunning environment of the African bush is to use traditional mobile camps. These camps are, as the name implies, mobile. They are put into place for your particular group and will be removed after you have left, leaving no trace. We use private areas for our mobile camps in some of the most beautiful and wild places in Kenya so that you can enjoy the unique tranquility of its wilderness. The mobile camps are fully equipped with large en suite tents and comfortable furniture. Our staff includes, in addition to your safari guide, waiters, barmen, tent attendants and of course cooks to prepare the most delicious meals, recreating the ambience of the old time hunting safaris of the past.
